Muggle Studies Expedition to Tar Pits

Zaza and I stalked them paparazzi-style.

Dubbadad dashed out of his office and stood along their route to wave.

They Were Behind in House Points

A Phone Call (Zaza is Playing Next Door)

"Who's this?"

"It's Aliza!"

"Hi, Aliza. What's up?"

"They want me to eat a home-made, um, a home-made...(background whispers)...Rice Krispies Treat!"

"Aww, that's so nice. You may have one."

Backyard Potion-Making (Gearing Up for Harry Potter Camp)

Frank's House is Chock-Full of Treasures

It takes no convincing whatsoever to get Ander and Zaza to attend a party at Frank's house.

Frank is -- amongst many, many, many other things -- a Collage and Assemblage Artist, a Diorama Builder, and a Maker of Marionettes. Thus, he is a Collector Extraordinaire (and a Kindred Spirit).

In Frank's Pool with Grandma (Dubbadad as Floatation Device)

They do love that kidney-shaped pool, with its low diving board and its views of the Valley.

Easy-Baking Isn't Very

The cookies were hard. Like sweet sweet rocks.

Perhaps it was the lightbulbs. I could only find 'appliance-sized' clear 60 watt bulbs. And regular-sized clear 57 watt (???) bulbs.
Who knew that this little baking experiment would require a trip to Home Depot?

Yesterday -- I SWEAR it Was Yesterday -- Her Feet Were That Small

We were so honored to meet Miss Penelope.

Ander had to fight hard for his turn: Zaza held Miss P. so long that we sort of had to peeeeeeel their sweaty little bodies apart.

And just as when Ander first met Zaza, it was those miniature, pillowy, impossibly soft, but unmistakeably human feet that made this tender alien (so newly arrived on our bright and arid planet) seem real to 'Za.
